I know this is an old thread, but I wanted to add another data point now that I can. I was in the same situation as the OP, applying for a DP under my partner's EP with a very old misdemeanor on my record from when I was a teenager. I also had an almost identical application experience: sent in the application, got asked for more information from MOM, sent a few details, bit my nails, and had my EP approved within a week or two. Just wanted to add my experience for anyone else who is going through the same process and stumbles across this forum; I was so scared of having my application rejected, and this thread gave me enough hope to calm down a little bit.
Hi, you have mentioned "asked for more information from MOM, sent a few details"
Please may I know the exact documents you were asked by MOM and what documents did you managed submitting. because I am on the same boat now. My thread under my profile would explain the scenario.. And did they asked questions like; Do you have any criminal history ? 2. Were you convicted by any court of law? and your answers were?
Thanks

MOM asked for details regarding the conviction and proof of clearance of the conviction (like the receipt from paying a fine). I sent a short paragraph explaining what happened, how old I was at the time, the fine I paid, and a copy of the court record confirming all that. I believe the DP application asked if you had ever been convicted in a court of law in any country.

Thank you, that's a valuable information you have provided about submitting "a short paragraph of what exactly happened" and "the proof of clearance". I can do the same, hopefully things will work out fine. Cheers

Hello, I wanted to chime in and add another data point as my recent experience of DP approval with a prior conviction was almost identical to both sing_move and mpnyp. My DP was submitted along with my spouses corresponding EP in early October. My spouse's EP was approved in less than two weeks and we were told by her HR that it would be a matter of days before mine was approved. After three weeks, her HR was asked for more documentation regarding my past conviction (misdemeanor DUI in 1999). I submitted my Plea, Sentencing (probation), along with a "Discharge from Probation" order which stated that I had complied with the terms. I waited close to two more weeks and had my DP approved. A bit shout out and thank you to sing_move and mpnyp for sharing your experiences! They really helped to shed some light on this process.
