So here’s my situation, I’m an Australian citizen but 3 years ago married a Singaporean. Her partner application in Australia was denied because about two years ago she became wheelchair bound because a vitamin b12 and nerve condition. We have decided to move here instead, at the moment I’m on a 90 day tourist visa less entry but don’t want to be flying back every three months.
I have had a bit of a look around but have become a bit perplexed as to exactly what I should be aiming for. I hold no loyalties to being an Australian anymore after our experiences with immigration there.
Long story short have moved to Singapore keen to start working and plan to live here indefinitely, any ideas on the best approach?

Most appropriate visa query.
Re: Most appropriate visa query.
If you are "legally married" (which is Australian marriage - same sex marriage) you will get a Long Term Visitors Pass (LTVP).
You can work on a LTVP with a Letter of Concent (LoC) which is really a formality unless you want to be a hawker, cleaner or driver. However you may get better pay if you find a job on your own Employment Pass, but that can happen when you have the LTVP.
Without checking, I am pretty sure there is no waiting period for a LoC on a LTVP by marriage.

Re: Most appropriate visa query.
Thanks, I should be fine for employment, I have a diploma and almost 15 years years experience as a facilities and property manager. My guess is I need to have at least conversational mandarin to talk to suppliers and contractors right?
Re: Most appropriate visa query.
Although looking sat the classifieds here it might be worth getting a bachelors degree, I’m 36 so might be getting a bit old for that.
Re: Most appropriate visa query.
Sorry can I clarify something? Going through the paperwork for the LTVP it only has options if I’m the spouse of someone with a work pass, is it still the right visa for a spouse of a Singaporean citizen?

Re: Most appropriate visa query.
You probably are using paperwork from the MOM (Ministry of Manpower). You need to use the ICA website.
Here is the link there for LTVP applications for Spouses of Singapore Citizens
https://www.ica.gov.sg/apply/LTVP/apply_LTVP_apply_ssc
Good Luck and welcome to Singapore
