gym difference

hi, i'm thinking of taking up gym membership.... but not sure which is the best one. appreciate any input about the followling gyms (machines, classes, environment) and pls offer membership rates, term/contract (if any), joining fees etc.

- california fitness
- planet fitness
- fitness first
.... or any others highly recommened
