Hi,
I am currently 23yrs old guy studying in Singapore. I am a second generation PR holder as my parent is PR.
Just want to ask whether i am able to apply PR under my own name, which means its not dependent to my parent so i can be the 1st generation PR.
Cos my father told me that his PR friend did the same and get approved. May i know anyone tried it or the possibility of getting.
Another question is that if i renounce my PR, is it possible apply and be Singapore Citizen again. If get approved, would my NS be exempted?

Second generation PR wants to be the first generation to skip NS

1. Your father's story sounds like the typical urban legend shit people pass around without verification that then ends up getting ignorant people in to trouble when they assume it's true.
2. You can indeed renounce PR but getting PR again is going to be incredibly difficult. And yes they question of 'issues with CMPB' will arise I suspect.

I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

How old were you when you got your PR via your father?

That doesn't tell us anything. Want to try again?
