Re: British Club Singapore - Membership
Definitely recommend the American club rather than the British club, although it really only makes sense to join if you’re American. Food is great, ambience is nice, and they have recently undergone a pretty dramatic renovation so it will be fresh and new when the job is completed.

Re: British Club Singapore - Membership
My company used to provide club membership as a perk to employees who reach middle management. In recent years they have done away with it. They site global trends of such clubs becoming less popular. I’m actually the very last employee who still has membership and they are canceling mine (American Club) next year - probably doing me a favor. The renovations were unsatisfactory in many ways, especially the pool area. Food is really nothing to hoot about. There are NOT many things that are distinctively American about the club, the ambience is more like a hotel. The only high points are the bowling alley, union bar, the library & maybe the gym.Lisafuller wrote: ↑Fri, 18 Dec 2020 10:24 pmDefinitely recommend the American club rather than the British club, although it really only makes sense to join if you’re American. I think the people who benefit most from club membership are those who do not have any condo facilities (and would really use them), and/or those who are paying for expensive gym memberships. I also think it’s important to live near the club if you really want to make the most out of it. One of the best uses I’ve found for the club - - it’s a nice escape when you’re having domestic troubles at home

Re: British Club Singapore - Membership
I agree Mal that the American club is not what it was. My wife can get a cheap membership there somehow but we've never bothered.
