Singapore PR Extension

Post by VJK_SG » Mon, 10 Dec 2018 4:46 pm

Hello Guys,

Need you inputs on Singapore PR extension for my spouse whose PR is getting expired by OCT-2019. Myself and my spouse were married in FEB-2018 and we are residing in INDIA after marriage since FEB-2018. My spouse have PR valid til OCT-2019 and planned to move back to Singapore by FEB-2019. My spouse will resume working in Singapore from FEB-2019. May I know if my spouse applies for extension during Mid of 2019 whether the possibility of PR extension will be positive??. Also does the gap of one year will cause any issue for PR extension.??.. Previously my spouse was holding a PR valid for 5 years. Please let me know your answers for my question.

Regards,
VJK

1 year gap will surely have issue. If your spouse is not moving to sg immediately, you can forget the REP extension.

Anytime that you have resided outside of Singapore will lessen your chances of renewal but based on anecdotal evidence, some PRs who have resided outside of Singapore were given a 1 year REP to allow them to re-establish their residencies in Singapore.

And others were given a 1 year REP to allow them to button up their affairs here before there REP renewal is rejected for good. Six of one, half-dozen of the other. Feel like gambling?
