Regarding PR application

Hi All,

I'm Vijay Nagarajan from India.I got a job and moved to Singapore in June 2018 on an Employment Pass( valid till June 2020)

I quite like the place and I would like to know about my chances(if any) of getting a PR if I apply from 6 months from now.Is it too early for me to apply? I heard from somewhere that it is compulsory to pay taxes for 3 years to apply.Is it true?

Given below are a few details about me.

Country : India
Mother tongue : Tamil
Age : 35
Marital Status : Single
Monthly Salary : 7300 SGD
Educational qualifications : BE,MBA ( Finance and Banking)
Total work exp: 10

I have been hearing a lot about PR rejections for Indians and the pesimism around it.

Is there an edge to apply for PR through immigration consultants? Do they provide value addition?

Could you please guide me about how to go about applying for PR.

Forget.About.It. - both applying and engaging immigration consultants.

You may not even get it if you apply 36 months from now, let alone 6 months.

Thanks.But I have been told by people around that I should gel well with the local community by volunteering for NGO and stuff.However when I went through the ICA website,I don't see any provision to submit these extra curricular information.

Volunteering has been heavily abused by some. Which now ICA no longer bother to look at this.
Once you all get the PR, you will stop the volunteer.

If you vounteer because you want too. This is welcome.
But if you thinking of vounteer to add extra point on getting PR. You can forget it.

Do you have a masters degree from a reputed institution in your home country? If yes, ICA MUST give you PR. Top it up with volunteer work at RC and blood donation or monthly donation to NKF, you are sure to stand out.

The reason why people are trolling you OP is because you make it sound like there are things you can do to make your application look better (on paper or otherwise).

This isn't how it works in Singapore. If you want to know the method of applying for PR, follow the guidelines on the ICA website.

For patterns, you can look through different threads on this forum to see what attributes are favorable and what are not (most of the attributes are those you can't control anyway so while it MAY give you a very generic idea if you will or will not get PR, it isn't going to help you much).

My thoughts on your application: stay in Singapore for 3 years before you apply. Even then, your race is against you so it's very likely that you would get rejected still. The so called pessimism you hear around Indians is a sad reality.

Take it from me, I am also a South Asian who has lived most of his life in Singapore and I am not even a citizen here.

Name, age and country is more then enough to identify you with a high degree of precision if not outright uniquely identify you. Add in the additional information you provided and it's pretty straight forward.
