I am living abroad (never been in Singapore) and have received an email from a police officer requesting me to confirm my actual adress as Magistrate's Complaint has been filled up against me in SG .

Should i reply to this email?

I have been advised by legal consultant that i should not reply as it could be a scamm,What would be next if i do not answer ?

Thanks

Listen to your lawyer's advice.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

Then it's either mistaken identity or a scam. Was the harassment online though?

I have no further details , i asked but did not get any reply from this supposed Police Officer .TBH i cannot relate any case to me.

In general terms, if this is for real, would i be in trouble if i want to visit SG somedays?

If it is real the information in the email should confirm it, one way or another. What is the domain used in the email address? If it is a court or police email then it should have a ".gov.sg" TLD.

If it doesn't have a a "gov.sg" TLD then I would treat it as fake.

Actually i have been told by my legal consultant that even if it is for real (which i honestly do not see where it could be coming from) , the police officer is not legally allowed to contact me as they know that i am not and have never been in SG .

So basicly his duties stops at the border of SG.

Could somebody confirm

It's hard to give a meaningful answer without knowing if it is real. Does the email address have ".gov.sg" at the end?
