Married to Singaporean - where to look for a job on LTVP

Post by MisterBlue » Sun, 11 Nov 2018 12:51 pm

Hi,

I'm recently married to Singaporean lady. For 10 months been trying to find a job in supply chain (before marriage).
I have +12 years of experience. Married 3 weeks ago. Where do you recommend me to look for jobs?
I sent hundreds of CVs, but before I got married, and there was literraly no response from the recruiters. So far I was using linkedin and jobstreet. Any agencies? As I heared many companies dont know about LOC. How to educate them ? Shall I add some comment in my CV about my current status ?

I believe now it shall be easier with LTVP, but it seems reality here for caucasian guy is not that fantastic.
Please advise :)
thank u

From my experience singapore doesnt respond well to online applications. You need to somehow get in touch with someone working in that company preferably in the same profile as you are applying for. Via linkedin.
I was thankfully able to convert from DP to Ep in 2 months of getting here. And that was first by adding other people working in the company with openings via linkedin. Via a detailed message, about referral. This didn't always workout but eventually one of the people did know someone who worked with me before. Once you get a personal referral, things move really fast.
