Hi. I am always fascinated about the way systems and procedures work.
I am wondering what actually goes on when people visiting Singapore present them self to Imagration
In my case I’m not going for a visa because I am just passing through and I have a Australian passport but I do have to clear immigration because I am arriving in termal 2 and departure is terminal 4 the same day that night
I called ICA. they said I just get a one day stamp when I explain that I am doing and show them my hard copy onwards ticket. I heard mayby they want to see sufficient funds and I told them all I have is cards and they where a bit unsure with the answer but said it depends on the ICA officer I asked them if they want to see a bank statement and they said they don’t ask for it but you fill out on the card how much money you have and I’m only there for the day any way so I should be fine . If I pass Imagration and I got about 6 hours could I go on a quick circet of Singapore? Any suggestions on a 6 hour day trip
Any way back to my question as I have said i am always curious and a perfectionist when it comes to systems and procedures. So I want to know what exactly happens once I’m at the Imagration counter. I understand I hand them my passport with onward ticket. But what about the disembark and embark card. I tried to find out about it and I was told it’s handed out on the inbound flight or at the international airport at departure but I could not get a clear answer from any one . I would like to study and analyse this card to perfect the filling up.
I am wondering what exactly happens when I pass them my passport. I think they scan in and look on there systems to see if there is a flag of such I think Interpol has a flag or something. This is ok because I have nothing to hide
Do they check everything that is going on in my life banking history and criminal history When I was younger I was charged for speeding a couple of times and ran up a small credit card debt. All these long time ago as since have been fixed up . I wonder if they are going to see this and denying my entry Unfortunately my wild country of Australia is just slightly more liberated than Singapore which makes things harder when trying to visit Singapore
And what does happen when Your denied entry any way
And I have been watching you tube videos looking at Changi and the Imigration counter and looks quick the process. People are moving through quickly and I can see people are handing the officers there passports whist card and other documents then I see Imagration looking at the screen. I would like to know what there looking at and what satisfies them

If your country is one of those that do not require a visa to enter Singapore, then you can just show your passport at immigration together with the filled up immigration form. They will take your picture and fingerprint you and compare your information with their database. If you are not on any watch list and your profile does not match those that they are looking to deny entry, then they might allow you to enter. I do not think that they are able to look into your personal history outside of Singapore unless for some reason your country of residence has shared it. When you are denied entry, you will be asked to use the same airline to go back to the country of origin if possible.

Do they want to see Singapore dollers or is my Australian dollers enough if they want to see proof of cash ,they are going to know I am only there for 6 hours because I will be showing them my onward ticket and apparently they just give me one day stamp.
So if I am clean and legal then there is know reason the be denied entry. I would be devastated to denied entry because I am getting married in Cebu.

AUD is good enough for show money since there are lots of money changers. Also credit cards are usually used for travel, so you can show that too.

I got mixed answers when I called ICA one spokesperson said that they don’t ask to see if you have proof of sufficient funds but they check on the white card. Another spokesperson said they might ask to see proof at the counter just enough for one day and I said I only have cards she said that’s fine and not to worry. I do worry to much
Just say to me normally if everything is law abiding and I am clean and neat they normally let through ? It’s a rare occasion to be denied right ?
I wish I had known befor I would have book airline that stayed in terminal 1, 2 and 3

@Brian Smith you are over thinking this. You are entering Sg on an Australian passport for a day. Fill in the form, which they give you on the plane, hand over that and your passport, they will stamp it and send you on your way. It's really that easy.
