Bring a BBQ?
Hi all,
First question I have about relocating to Singapore is if I bring a BBQ, like a Weber, will I be able to use it on the balcony of a condo, or is this normally not done? I've never lived in a high rise before.
Thanks!

Re: Bring a BBQ?
Yes you can in some but you would need to check with the condo Management committee before as not all will allow it as the smoke can tick off those who live above and beside you.

Most condo's have BBQ pits. Drag it down to that level. It's far more friendly. You'd be astonished at how quickly your apartment will fill with smoke if the wind blows the wrong way.

Thanks for the responses. Have been super busy researching other topics! To bring the car along or not is the next biggie!

Right hand drive. Not more than 3 years old. Pay a bunch of money ($10,000 importation fee, registration fee, additional registration fee - about 140 percent of import value, COE, GST). Jump through many hoops. You'll have to do the math to see if it makes economic sense.CaptainJamesCook wrote:Thanks for the responses. Have been super busy researching other topics! Not worth it unless you're CD plate eligible (diplomat etc). Lease or buy. Est $1000 a month for payments and it will be around there.CaptainJamesCook wrote:Thanks for the responses. Have been super busy researching other topics! To bring the car along or not is the next biggie!

On that note, have lease prices dropped or stayed the same over the last few years. When I last looked it wasnt worth it over buying.
Any sites that have historical values or comparisons?

There's a huge surplus of new and used cars right now because of the UBER departure. It's worth looking around. The Ref wrote:On that note, have lease prices dropped or stayed the same over the last few years. When I last looked it wasnt worth it over buying.

Re: Bring a BBQ?
Wrong thread I suppose, but I’ll ask your valued opinion/knowledge:
I’m looking at importing my nice (German premium brand) family car as it ticks all the boxes for the LTA , and to finish my calc on the financial feasibility, I am looking for how Sing Customs determine their OMV. Any experience or tips for finding out? I’ve even emailed Sing Customs directly but not heard back. Cheers for your insights.....

Re: Bring a BBQ?
Strong Eagle posted earlier in the thread. Yes its a 27 page document, which is why I suggest you will find nobody actually does it unless they run an import company. That document has a step by step checklist that covers pages 9 through 16
