Can anyone guide me why Dedicated IP is good for gaming?

I host servers for DOTA, CS:GO and other different games, but recently I have started getting suggestions from my mates that I should start using <SPAM REMOVED> to increase the speed and performance of the game, which improves ping issues etc. But, is it true? I want to know your own personal experiences regarding this. Thank You.
