The consistent ethnic mix is an indication (obviously) that the Singapore population is by design and not evolutionary circumstance, consistent with most other aspects of Singapore.
Then again, the country's raison d'être in modern times have always been as a global trading post, and so it shall remain - so continuing to run it as a business seems prudent.
The biggest demographic challenge seems to be the ageing population - rightly so, the government would be keen to add younger, well educated new citizens into its citizen population. Noone wants to end up like Japan.
