REP renewal for a dependent PR

Post by omg88 » Thu, 13 Sep 2018 2:19 pm

Hi All,

i just want to ask if anyone has similar experience as what i m going through right now.
I become a PR under together with my parents back in 2004. The last time I renewed my Re-Entry was back in 2008 together with my parents as i was still under 21 back then. Our re-entry got renewed for 10 years.

But now, my re-entry is due for renewal again and i submitted for Renewal of REP on Monday 10/08/2018 and it is still pending. this is the first time I am renewing on my own as i am already above 21 and cant renew under my father's sponsorship anymore. Both my parents are still PR.
We have applied for SC before and it was also rejected. but now my main concern is has anyone experienced rejection of REP renewal?

I am 30 this year. married. my husband is holding a S-pass and my son is on LTVP under my sponsorship. My salary is SGD 3,500. i have been working full time and paying income tax and cpf for more than 4 years now.

please share your experiences with me.

More or less, you should be OK as you are working in SG and have paid Tax and CPF

Do you have male siblings ? did they do NS? Evasion of NS could be a risk factor that can affect renewal of REP for family members.

yes.. i do have male sibling. but he is not required to do NS because he became a singaporean on his own merit. so he is a first-gen SC and NS is not required for him. he did not evade NS.

Hi All,

there is an update that i want to share.. I m not very sure if this is related to my REP renewal also. but i just found it strange that i received this email at this time.
i have not received my outcome for my REP renewal. HOWEVER, i received an email from MOE asking me if I have fulfilled my 3 year bond in Singapore (which is to work for a Singapore based company for 3 yrs). this is a bond which we PR and foreigners need to sign when we attend the local poly.

I have revert to MOE with my past 4 year income tax payment.

i will update again if there is any news for my REP renewal.

keeping my fingers crossed that everything will go well.

hello when exactly did you get the approval? I am now worried mine won't get approved in time as we are travelling out of Singapore when my REP expires (I forgot it was expiring this month :( )

Hi.. i received my approval E-mail on the 19th sept. so it took about 9 days for them to process my application. it is normally quite instant if there is no issue. my parents renewed theirs and it got approved instantly.
