What to take with me to Singapore?
Hi, I am a Spain citizen and am moving to Singapore with my wife and a little kid beginning of December 2018. I was wondering what I should bring there from home (Don't say my wife and the kid, I know that...
I am referring to stuff for the day to day living that might be difficult or expensive to get there. For example, I have been recommended to bring tons of sun cream. Any other advice? Thank you very much in advance for your help.

I don't think you need to worry about bringing anything unless there is something very spanish you will miss.... but even that you may be able to find.
Singapore is very cosmopolitan. It has plenty of sunscreen. It probably has all of the global brands your used to.
You might try taking a look at http://www.redmart.com.sg if you want to look for anything specific. But even if they don't have it there are a ton of speciality shops for things like cheese, wine etc.
Amazon also delivers here along with many other global e-commerce players and lots of regional players.
I would worry about bringing things of value that would be expensive to replace rather then FMCG you worry may not be available here.

Thanks a lot Brian, this is an excellent feedback, just what I needed. I owe you a beer (very expensive in Singapore though, I am told).

You get used to it very quickly, oddly enough.JaviCanario wrote:I owe you a beer (very expensive in Singapore though, I am told).

Would think that you should try to get a perspective from other Spaniards.
How about searching for "Spanish Expats in Singapore"?
I believe there is a Facebook group for this.
Have you tried contacting the Spanish Embassy?
They might be another source of helpful contacts.

Needs must.Strong Eagle wrote: You get used to it very quickly, oddly enough.

Actually many places now seem to have happy hours which knock the prlce down substantially. One place I frequent has pints at $8 until 8pm, then shoot up to $16. Poor business plan because the drinkers leave after 8. But there is another nearby which has Guinness for $6.50 all night. Shame it has such poor atmosphere.
Places in the tourist spots can continue to charge silly prices but bars in other areas have to compete for the diminishing expat crowd. My theory. I've just noticed downward prices over the last couple of years.
