hi just want to ask if a foreigner previously working in singapore who was declared bankrupt due to unpaid credit card bills can still go back to singapore? or travel to other countries?
will he be arrested in singapore airport or othet airports?
Thank you for the information, it is always good to know the facts.PNGMK wrote:IF you actually were declared bankrupt by a court in Singapore then yes, you have a problem. Bankrupt persons are not meant to travel (out of Singapore) without permission of the court's assignee. IF you were declared bankrupt in absentia then you will almost certainly have some questions from immigration and possibly risk arrest, failing that I'm certain the court's assignee will be in touch with during your time in Singapore.
IF you're saying "oh maybe I am bankrupt as I don't have money to pass those bills" but you're not actually legally bankrupt then you won't have an issue entering barring some other factor.
thanks for the info.. incase i travel to other countries (not singapore) will i also have problems?PNGMK wrote:IF you actually were declared bankrupt by a court in Singapore then yes, you have a problem. IF he went bankrupt in Singapore and tries to leave Singapore without the permission of the OA he DOES face the risk of arrest. On his return he definitely will have issues. This only applies if he was bankrupted in Singapore.
