Can I apply for visa with my mom but then travel alone to SG?

Hi, I am going to apply for Singapore visa with my mom but is there anyway I can travel without her? I am 17 years old. And, my mom doesn't really want to travel even though she is going to apply with me. Will I be faced with lots of question at the immigration ? Is it safer to just travel with my mom?
