Just relocating from Canada to Singapore. Has anybody have a successful experience in converting Ontario G2 driving license to Singapore driving license? I am aware that G license is convertible, but not sure about G2.

That is a restricted licence, I doubt it can be converted. Sg doesn't have an equivalent for cars.

Although it is a restricted license, I'd try for it anyway... you never know. This is not a learner's permit like the G1, it allows you to drive independently. In Singapore, newly licensed drivers used to have to display a P plate... I don't think that is the case any more.

I was talking to Italy's new ambassador the other day. He told me that he was told by LTA that unless his licence could show evidence that he had been tested on larger bikes he could not convert to a full licence. That's hard to show.

Yes, that's been in for a while, there has been some discussion on this.
A friend got a full licence showing that he had qualified via the Direct Access route in the UK. Training and testing is done on 500cc bikes. The cert he showed made no reference to the size of bike, so I would assume LTA is aware of the DA course and I guess similar courses in other countries, assuming they exist.
But as you say, difficult to prove otherwise.
