Application for spouse and child

Post by Mintygreen » Thu, 12 Jul 2018 2:10 am

Hi, I just received my SC AIP and will be completing SC journey in July. My husband is a foreigner (not the preferred race and nationality) whom PR application was rejected in 2017. And my newborn child is born in Malaysia in May 2018 before I receive my SC AIP. My questions are:

1. My child is currently under LTVP. Can I apply sg citizenship for him straight away or do I have to apply PR first?
2. My husband SG PR was rejected in 2017, should I sponsor him again after I gained SC citizenship? Or wait for another year?

Thanks in advance!

1. You can apply citizenship for your child directly. Don’t have to apply PR first.

2. Sponsor PR for your husband only after 3-4 years of his stay and stable work history in SG. You getting approval for SC is definitely a plus point but again, if his stay in SG is not long enough, it may well be rejected again.

Thanks Svnebh! My husband has been working in sg since June 2013.
