It's one of the enduring mysteries of Singapore: why something so traditionally oriental as a massage needs to be so expensive here.
I've tried a few upmarket spas and a few neighborhood ones, and whilst not necessarily bad, they all seem way overpriced, particularly when the masseuse isn't properly qualified, which they don't always appear to be.
I reckon the cheapest massage available in Singapore is still more expensive than a proper sports massage, by a certified therapist, back home in Europe.
Never ceases to amaze me. Hopefully Barry's inquiry can bring provide a few answers.
