Waiting for recession?

Post by msdaniel924 » Tue, 03 Jul 2018 9:37 pm

Hey guys,

I know this might seem like a shallow question but I have given myself faith and time to wait out this recession, as I am currently still working in HK. Is it too early to say, or would this summer be a considerably better time for foreigners to look for jobs from abroad?

Another question I have is how useful is it to be able to speak English, Cantonese and Mandarin fluently in Singapore, in terms of a better chance of being hired? I am able to speak all three.

Many thanks.

Well, there's a lot of factors to consider like which field are you in, yrs of exp, etc. The bottom line is, no one can really tell when is the right time. Singapore is a country that thrives even in recession, so if you really set your goal to work here, might as well go for it and take the chance. The fact that you can speak English and Mandarin gives you the advantage over other foreigners who were also trying their luck to land a job here.
