Application for Singapore Citizenship

Post by s3nt1n3l » Wed, 27 Jun 2018 8:42 pm

Hi I would be applying for Singapore Citizenship next year and would like to ask what's my possibility of getting it based on my profile:

current citizenship : Indonesian
Age : 27
PR since 1998 (2nd generation PR). PR renewed once in 2014.
Salary : N/A. just finished Masters at overseas university and moving back in July. that's the reason why I'm only thinking of applying citizenship next year once I'm working for a period of time.
NS status : served and ORD-ed as Platoon Sergeant. haven't been called up yet since I have been overseas

Prior to moving away from Singapore in 2014 for overseas studies, I have been in Singapore since 2003 for secondary school, poly, and NS. I didn't take up the accelerated citizenship scheme back when I was in NS as I wasn't sure whether should I renounce my Indonesia citizenship due to my family connection back in Indonesia. But now I'm sure that I will not go back to Indonesia for work/retirement since I just don't see myself as Indonesian anymore.

Appreciate if any of you could give me some advice. Thanks :)

Your plan sounds solid to me. It shows that even though you went overseas for your studies, you returned here to work. You don't sound like a quitter to me. Get that year under your belt and then go for it.

Are you ethnic Chinese?
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

A few years ago when I had no working experience but I wanted to apply for citizenship, the ICA officer asked me if I’ve done NS. As I had not, I was asked to work and have 3 tax assessments before applying.

Because you’ve already done NS, I’d say go ahead and apply now.

The whole process can take anywhere from a year to 2+ years. Good luck

Hi all,
Could not find recent relevant posts, therefore trying to ask here...

I have applied for SC in Apr 17, interviewed in Nov 17, just received rejection letter this Jun 18.
Been in Singapore for Pri sch since 2004, PR in 2007 till now, 14 years in SG.
Started working for 1+ year after uni grad with 2.5K for a month, paid income tax for this 1 year.
Had CPF for around 10 years since I have work part time during sch times.

Any similar situation or inputs? How do I go about to appeal or reapply?? Female, Indonesian Chinese.

Thanks in advance!!
