Hello all,
I have a query on the best or the right way to apply for a Singapore PR.
I am an Indian citizen currently living and working in USA. My wife is a Singapore Citizen, also working in USA and we have 2 kids who are also Singapore Citizens. We are looking to move to Singapore and wanted to check if I can apply for a Singapore PR under the Spouse of a Singapore citizen (but the spouse is also not currently in Singapore)? Is it possible to apply for PR from overseas while none of us have having worked in Singapore?
Thanks

Theoretically yes.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or
http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

I know of one person who successfully did that, but it was probably 15 years back. No idea what the current state is for such an application, but generally things are tougher now. Can't hurt to try.

Saint comes to mind, and he didn't even have any children at that point. They were in the UK. Do a search for his early posts here. As bgd mentions, it's been a while ago and things have tightened up across the board re: immigration, so while it has been done, we don't know of any recent examples for evidence that is can still be done.

Tricky part will be filing paperwork electronically without a singpass

Thank you everyone for the replies.. Finally submitted the application online on Jun 29 as my wife has an active sing pass with the Onekey token here. The tricky part was that there was no option to provide our current US address in the application as it accepts only a Singapore address. But have given notes in the application stating that it is an US address and reason for the same.Fingers crossed

Could you please share if your PR was successful?

@Has12cake - No update yet. Status is 'Pending' since 8 months. Not sure how long to wait. Are you applying from overseas too?

Hello! I got an approval for the PR earlier this month. Just checked online!! Took about 9 months since application. I did receive an email asking for the local address in Singapore, I believe the IPA will be mailed to that address. Now I need to figure out how to book an appointment for next steps given we are overseas. Not sure if there is a timeframe within which we have do that.

Thanks OP. Good outcome. Makese sense too given that you're offering to bring back cannon fodder (aka kids).

Hello. Does anyone know if I can use the IPA letter to enter Singapore instead of a visa? And can I get the PR formalities done even though I don’t have a job in Singapore yet? I’m working in US and plan to move to Singapore sometime in Sep 2019 only. But as I have only two months within which to complete formalities, plan to get the PR done, get Reentry permit and travel back to US.

IPA letter is not a visa. You can apply for Singapore visa online, once your visa is approved then travel to Singapore. And congrats on your pr approval
