Subletting a room out

Post by berries_aficion » Fri, 22 Jun 2018 5:07 pm

Hi all,

I've tried searching this forum for an answer but couldn't seem to find it.

My question is if I rent the whole private condo unit, can I then sublet one of its rooms out? Is this illegal?

I'm an EP holder.

Most likely your tenancy agreement with the landlord will prevent you from sub-letting rooms. It is a very common clause, and I know that, as a landlord, I would generally not permit it.

Check what your tenancy agreement says. Attempt to negotiate the right to sublet.
