Hi All,
I am writing to you for my PR process. I have a son who is Singaporean and living with my ex-wife in Singapore. With my live in partner we are planning to move to Singapore. According to ICA, I could avail a PR through my son. However since end of 2017, the procedure for submission for PR should be done either through Singpass or their local Singapore citizen or Singapore PR sponsor. I don’t have singpass and I would like to know if there are other means to make the PR request. Any advice would be much appreciated.
cheers,

Your son is the SC and he needs to apply for you.

Are you then an “Aged parent of a SC”? That category applies to the SC sponsoring an aged parent, not the other way round.

Yeah this is exactly the category i am applying for. However i can apply only with Singpass / local Singapore citizen/ Singapore PR sponsor. My ex wife doesn't want to do it and i don't have a Singpass.

You are not eligible for this category. You need an SC son or daughter to sponsor you as an aged parent. Obviously a 5-year old cannot sponsor you. And I wonder whether you are old enough to be considered “Aged parent”.
It is not a matter whether you have Singpass or not.
And your ex wife can’t do that for you even she is willing to. There is no way of sponsoring ex spouse, or sponsoring on behalf a 5-year old.

Your son needs to be 21 to sponsor your as either a PR or for an LTVP. Your option now is the usual EP PR SC route. Also your live in partner will struggle to get a DP under your EP if she's not from a liberal western country that is willing to provide proof that you're in a common law marriage.

Actually ica says that I am eligible for PR. The process has been changed from end of 2017. There is a small nuance “Singapore PR sponsorS” which opens up anyone with relation to send my application on my behalf. see the screen shot attached. I wanted to know if anyone in the group managed to do it since the change of procedure.

So far that I know this is the latest requirement from ICA
https://www.ica.gov.sg/citizen/sponsor/ ... or_applypr
So I don`t think your small kid will be able to produce any employment letter nor have any position here in a company and also CPF since your kid still very young.

See the word sponsor? That implies an economic sponsor. Your son can't do that yet. Perhaps in the purely legal sense he could but he can't sponsor you financially and Singapore won't take the risk of letting in someone who may become a burden on the state.
I concur with you that a Singapore relative could process the application on your behalf but that is a separate event to being a sponsor. The system has been updated as obviously people without Singpasses were being stymied.

Another key word is “Aged” parent. I am not sure how old OP is when his son is only 5-year old.

If his name happened to be Strom Thurmond he could be 80 now!

the subtext to this category is that it's really for adult immigrants (such as Chinese) to sponsor their old parents...

What is the norm for minor repair clause? $200?
Last post
Over the past 5 or 6 years it seems to be around $150/incident.
