GBP salary in the UK?

Post by amadahy032 » Wed, 23 May 2018 9:58 am

Hey guys,

As the Singapore job market doesnt look too promising for my job profile,I was exploring some job opportunities for IT in the UK in reed.co.uk and I see a lot more openings there however I notice that most of the IT developer roles salaries are not more than 50-55k GBP per annum.

That's because because there are 1000's of folk capable of doing the job.

Also bear in mind at the minute any EU citizen can also go and work there increasing the supply, and that contract work is popular as you can get a better return for contract working than permanent work, many IT roles are contract based.

Less VAT on some goods though

And all your medical expenses covered by your taxes as well.

Free entry into all museums too

Its not all bad is it really?

I think the implication from TS post is that 55K GBP is maybe take home £40K so not so much especially if you in London or a major city.
