Hello,
I am a British citizen with permanent residency in Australia where I work.
I am due to move to Singapore on a dependent's visa (due to my husband's work) in August.
I am hoping to continue to work remotely for the company I work for here in Australia
My assumption is that I would need to 'cease' my employment in Australia, invoice for services from Singapore and complete a tax return in Singapore.
I have not yet found out if there would be any additional requirements.
I am wondering if anyone has experience of doing something similar and if you can provide any useful contacts / advice?
Many thanks!

Moving to Singapore on dependent visa. Continue to work remotely for company in Australia.

Yes that's how I would do it. Otherwise you'll end up paying Aussie tax. Income tax in Singapore is straight forward. Between April 15 and the cut off date submit a income statement showing what you've earned. Some minor deductions are allowable.
As A DP you need not worry about CPF. You need a bank account as well but as a DP that's no issue.
You may have some moron IN Australia bleat about GST. There is no GST payable (from the Aussie perspective) nor Singapore GST obligation to collect as far as I can tell.

I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

This is essentially correct. Note however, that the Australian company for which you work cannot have a legal entity in Singapore, nor can it provide goods in services in Singapore. If either of those cases were to be true, then you would have to be working for a Singapore entity.NatalieF wrote:Hello,

Tax wise, you would be an unregistered sole proprietorship and would declare you income on your personal income tax form from your SP. See ACRA webpage for details.

An unregistered sole proprietorship is simply one that has not registered with ACRA. There is no reason to do so.
