Kidney Transplant recipient effect of Entre Pass Application?

Post by navaljoshi » Sun, 20 May 2018 2:35 am

Hi All,

I run a successful business in India. I run a design studio.
I had a kidney transplant a few years ago. I am doing good.
Now I am planning to relocate to SG and run my business from here.

You think my application will be rejected because of my transplant thing?

As long as you can get your anti-rejection medication in Singapore easily, I don't see any problem. A least from that standpoint. The Entrepreneur Programme is another ball game. Unless you are planning on going big time, e.g., will have a decent sized local staff, you can pretty much forget going that route.

It is very unlikely that you will qualify for an Entrepass. See my somewhat dated, but still relevant article here: viewtopic.php?t=93619

Also, take a look at MoM requirements for and Entrepass: http://www.mom.gov.sg/passes-and-permit ... ligibility

If you search on my handle you will find quite a number of threads related to starting a business without an Entrepass application. Essentially, the process has become substantially more difficult because of the abuses by others.

Thanks for your inputs.

You think Health can be a reason for rejection?
or
The newly updated rules for Entre Pass?
I work in Interactive Museums in INDIA, WHICH IS PRETTY INNOVATIVE Space.

Am I trying my luck?

It's not going to be your health. Your business won't qualify under the rules for starting a business under the Entrepass. And if they did approve you, you will absolutely hate all the rules for the minimum spend you must make every year, employee training, employee promotions, etc.

You really want to look at hiring a firm that forms a company for you, then applies for an EP outside of the Entrepass process.

Read the requirements on the MoM website again. How is it you think you qualify with an interactive museum?

Cheers.

PS: The newest rules on the MoM website are actually looser than they used to be. I still don't see where your company fits.

But again, if you haven't read my post on the Entrepass, you should... it tells you exactly what you are going to have to do if you were to succeed in getting an Entrepass.

Thanks.

Finally, I think the best way is to make a subsidiary of my Indian company and start operations there.

That's the most logical way to proceed.

Hi I incorporated a company through an accounting company who leased me a local director nominee and I employed myself as the director. Eventually the local nominee director stepped down. However I did put sgd 100000 as start up capital and showed my business plan to buy locally from singaporean businesses and re export goods. I did have some business dealings with Singapore companies before so that proof should have scored some points (before forming the company ) and so it showed that the business was genuine.

I’ve renewed my employment pass twice so far without any issues ( salary 20 k plus )

Initially my application for the employment pass was rejected but then worked on a business plan plus proof of my past dealings with companies here and it was approved.
