You will want to ensure that the company you hire has agents that work for the company in both countries, or, at the very least, that they have long time relationships with moving and packing companies in both countries. You will also want to make sure that the company handles all shipping and customs issues.annetheseira wrote:Hello all!
Need some help.......i am currently living in Singapore with my husband and three kids, but my husband just got relocated to Canada and i'm a little lost with this....not sure which relocation company to use. Would like to engage a relocation company that has relatively low costs!
Thank you!!
Agree. SF handled my relocation from Shanghai to Singapore. It was a very smooth experience without any issue.Strong Eagle wrote:You will want to ensure that the company you hire has agents that work for the company in both countries, or, at the very least, that they have long time relationships with moving and packing companies in both countries. Your nightmare starts when you hire a local company with no real relationship in the destination country. They pack your stuff up here. Then they take your boxes to a freight forwarder who is supposed to get your boxes into a container and onto the correct ship. Already you have a problem... your packer will tell you that you need to talk to the freight forwarder... they wash their hands.
And then, at the destination country, who is going to be responsible for unloading the container and shepherding it through customs? Who is going to store it? Who is going to get it on a truck and delivered to your house when you are ready?
Yes, you can find some real cheap operators and you will regret it. Choose only those who can guarantee end to end service for your shipment.
...and there we have it - on just the second post from the TS!annetheseira wrote:...one of my close friends just used XXXXXX and had very good reviews about it regarding its excellent service......

Is there anything you regret not taking back or wish you had taken back Rob? Old chinese furniture or antiques or whatever?
