There are two Gemological Institution of America certified shops in Singapore that can test. They don't provide price valuation, only gem assay service. You can Google them.

And considering you're posting from Indore, India, one might ask two questions.

a) Why would you be contacting a Singapore forum to ask your question?

b) How long before your buddy (or you, under a different handle) just happens to have some information to share?

These are the two I have used before,

Both offer the same type of service and are members of respected international gemological institutes. Once again they don't do valuations, only certification and classification of the gemstone. You don't need to go to India or Lahore. One of these saved a friend a small fortune (he was going to buy a huge sapphire - it turned out to be a rare, but not valuable, piece of green volcanic glass). I would trust these guys over anyone else in the region as they work purely on testing and certification and are not involved in the commercial side of the gemstone business.
