Hi all,
I'm from Australia and I recently received a job offer to work in Singapore. I have to submit a health declaration to my employer, who will then proceed to apply for an EP on my behalf. I have a history of anxiety and take medication regularly. I've been receiving benefits from the Aussie govt for a decade because of my condition, though if I start working these benefits will cease.
Does anyone know if my health condition will affect my chances for an EP approval? When MOM conducts background checks, do they delve extensively into my medical history as well?
I know there are other factors involved (age, experience, educational history etc) but according to the SAT tool, I am eligible for an EP and what I'm concerned with is purely this.
Thank you!

Re: Does mental health condition affect EP approval?
If your employer doesn't actually know the history then I would not declare it then. I would not let this history get into the system in Singapore as it is likely to be passed around willy nilly and will cause all sorts of issues with insurance and potential future passes. There is STILL a stigma with medical health here not helped by the daughter of LKY (long story). There is a supposed data privacy act here but the insurance companies wipes their asses on it every morning /s.celestar92 wrote:Hi all,

If your employer knows the history I would explain to them you are concerned (legitimately) about data privacy and request them not to disclose it.
Congratulations on getting off the DPS - that's a damn hard thing to do and I'm impressed - seriously.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
