Hello Expats (& Experts)
Need to understand if I can claim for Non-Working Wife Relief & Child Relief when filing my taxes.
Situation: My wife & kid are not staying in SG (since he's a new-born - they are still in my home country).
Can I claim the Dependent Spouse & Child relief or should the dependents be in the country (with proper DP issued)? Any Ideas?

they/She has to have been living with you for the period claimed. I guess if she was away for a month or so it will be ok. There's no real penalty for misclaiming this allowance - they just won't allow however I know nothing and am not a CPA.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.

No dependent passes? No relief.

LTVP would be able to claim (I claimed my wife as a non working spouse when she was on a LTVP). SVP cannot for sure.

LTVP and DP interchangable since LoC's made available to both. I was thinking SVP as apparently OP has never gotten them a DP according to his last sentence in the orginal post. The fact that he mentioned DP leaves me to conclude he is an EP holder not a PR. Therefore, LTVP wouldn't even apply to him as he's not from a western country so I don't there there is an issue with gender (ltvp for some of the same gender unions we've seen in the past where the employer agrees to sponsor).

Thank you @PNGMK and @sundaymorningstaple
Yes, my family is not in Singapore (no LTVP/DP yet). It will be first time when (if) I raise a DP requests for them. So long story short -> I cannot claim any reliefs as they are not "Registered" dependents.
Thank you Experts
