My hubby PR got rejected the first time(waited for3 months and got rejected). I applied for him again in March and status is still pending.

Im Singaporean, self-employed, small biz. Annual income about 50k. Previously when I applied for him, Im still a freelance and unstable income.
My hubby is a Filipino Chinese, 30 years old.
His salary $3.1k (incl allowance), S pass, Uni grad, staying in SG for 6 years.
We are married for 1 year 11 month. We have 1 son, 9 month old, Singaporean.
Applied him as Chinese instead of Filipino as I'm hoping that being a Chinese will helps to increase his chance. We went to find our area MP to write in letter as well.

What you guys think? He is not E pass and not earning super high salary, only a executive level. Does this affect his chance of getting approved? I hope he will get approve soon as we hope to BTO instead of squeezing in my parent's house. :( Why is is so hard to get PR even when he has a family here.
He will get it this time or wait for 1 year and reapply. Very likely he will get it
Thanks! I will cross finger and hope that he will get it very soon! =D> =D>

You can apply a BTO even if your husband doesn't have PR as you have a Singaporean baby.

How is PR application going to stop your marriage? I dont think they are related.

Why? Are you planning on trying to clone his background and credentials and family history?

No one here knows the exact eligiblity criteria for PR Approval and we get to hear from very few people that their application has been successful. So we can only have assumptions on the criteria based on those successful applicant's profile. One or more points would help someone in some way or at least to understand the process. Recently we have another applicant who have got his PR successful after 10 months of waiting time. Though it's a first attempt for him, yet it was successful. From his profile what we could understand is that, there might be a quota limitation for Indian nationalities which couod be causing more failures. Similarly his profile could bring some point which would be helpful for the analysis of current PR Success Rate status. No one would try to fake their profile with someone's with information being shared also they are not expected to share their sensitive data here. It could be just a basic information which contains any of these but not limited to just these.

1. No. Of Persons applied
2. No. Of Attempts applied
3. No. Of Years stayed in SG
4. Current Pass status
5. Studied in SG
6. Nationality

I don't think I have asked for any personal information here. If so my appologies.

All the data you could possibly deduce from the questions you are asking will not give you any assumptions whatsoever. After moderating this board for 14 years and seeing literally '000's of applicants both successful and unsuccessful with credentials from the same schools and/or similar work histories, etc., etc. If there is one thing we have learned here is that the ICA and the MOM hold their cards very close to their collective chests and all the profiles cannot even begin to show you any likelihood of what your chances are.

The only trends that can be seen are when, like during the 2011 GE, the fact that Indians who managed to get themselves into positions of hiring authority, tended to only hire their own kind rather than judging on merit or fake credentials. This started a ruckus that eventually came to a head during the 2015 GE and the pogrom began in earnest to stop the flood of Indian Nationals.

For several years it was virtually impossible to get PR as your countrymen abused the system for so long that they aren't much trusted here to do the right thing. A lot of the rejections are for nothing more than the fact that the government is trying to reduce the demographic as it was allowed to grow disproportionately after 2000 in the quest to create an IT Hub in Singapore. Sadly, they allowed it to get out of hand and the traditional 7% of the population had grown to 9% at the direct expense of the ruling ethnic group. Therefore they decided it was time to re-adjust the demographic where they were more comfortable. Hence the pogrom against the abusers of the system.

So, all you can do is just hope. It has been relaxing a bit in the past 12 months but for all intents and purposes, it is still very hard and there is no rhyme nor reason for some of the rejections or approvals for that matter. All you get from asking these silly questions for which the answer is "How long is a piece of string" is anxiety. Anxiety isn't good for your health. So you should just file and go on about your life without worrying if it will or won't happen. Worry about it after it's approved. After all, you still have 6 months, I believe, in order to take up the offer. Or you can go to Au or Ca (but their patience is running out there as well).

Sorry to say, this will have no impact on your application and how long it took for him may not be applicable to you.

SF, you know that they don't believe you! Hope all is well. I'm currently in FL (USA) on R&R for a while. Leaving on Tuesday for Philadelphia for 5 days and then it's back to Singers again for another 18 months or 18 years.

For all the wannabes, my PR approval never did show up online. (There was not a website in those days). So don't worry so much about it. It will happen when it happens. EOS. ;-)
