what is the reason to state for apealing for FDW workpermit cancellation

Post by parivinu » Mon, 26 Feb 2018 12:16 pm

Hi ,

my helper arrived singapore on jan and we thought we will send her back since she lied about her age and also not showing interest in working , later we felt pity about her family condition and also she paid the agency fee , we though we will give a try meanwhile we forgot to issue the card for her due to which her work permit got cancelled and we are asked to penalty for it. when i called MOM they told me to appeal and waive off the fee stating valid reason. they want me to write a letter with the reason , i am not sure what reason should i state which will waive off the penalty. Please let me know if anybody has expereince with this.

Thanks

I'm not sure what reason you could possibly give. You said she wasn't interested in working and she lied about her age and you believe her family situation as well? How do you know she's not lying about that as well? It's your possessions and sanity that may take a beating. If it were me, she's already shown her true colours. I know what I would do.

How does your agency handles this matter?
Sorry to hear that your helper wasn't interested in working.

I had similar situation,I contacted my agency about it,had some counselling with her and to understand the real reason why she wants transfer.
I'm thankful for the agency to guide our family throughout the stressful moments where busy parents working and managing toddlers at the same time.

I believed the agency may be a better position to advise you on the admin part in regards with your work permit. Have u tried asking them?

Just to share our own recent experience. We wished we could have more information of our previous helper before hiring her. As well as Getting testimony from her previous employer etc.

After almost 3 months,We ended up sending her straight back to the Manila phillipines. I applaud the honest agency for not transferring her out to other family where most agency will happily do that for a transfer fee, loans etc.
We thanked all helpers for their effort and physically tiredness to ensure our house clean, child mind etc.

We have never sent any helper back home before despite hiccups here and there and we believed we made the right decision for that.

Reason : Defiance attitude and selfishness.Imagine paying a maid to take care of the family with children ,$600 monthly, the helper cooked ONLY her lunch, munching and enjoying her yummy Adobo Whole Chicken for her lunch. And family member get to smell only her food. ](*,) All of us stunned! No Genuine heart to serve the family. We knew she got a BF,but we closed one eye about it,things still don't work out the way we want it. Better off without one and sending our kid to full day childcare.

This is crazy. Very rude and bad working attitude we ever faced in our life and needed to rant out.

Sat down with her to talk things out why is she acting up this way? She mentioned wasn't happy for the simple instructions given down in the morning. #-o Everytime we gave her instructions, she would mumble to herself. Outright defiance and no respect for the Employers. Attitude problem, talking back to the employers at all time . Instead of working along with the Employers, she always have things to talk back, working against with the Employer. We are going to blacklist this helper name Abegail Hernandez Castro. We believed she will returned here for work.I'm not sure if it will work out or suitable for your family? Maybe yes, maybe no. But her working attitude and selfishness stop us from transferring and writing her a reference letter. Our helper even gave us advice not to waste our money buying air tickets to send her back. We believed its not wastage at all. To prevent future casualties with family that have children, its worthwhile.

Our family have written good reference testimony for helpers previously who helped themselves and still display good working attitude while transitioning for transfer. In this case,we worked alongside with the agency to sent her home for Good.
