No, all online PR applications go into the bit bucket, then the bits are converted to electrons and used to power the slot machines at MBS.mariman wrote:Anyone approved via online PR application?

I thought ICA decided PR by drawing names out of hat every month? (well five hats for the four races and "others"). Have they modernized?Strong Eagle wrote:No, all online PR applications go into the bit bucket, then the bits are converted to electrons and used to power the slot machines at MBS.mariman wrote:Anyone approved via online PR application?
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

Re: Approved E-PR
Just had our PR rejected, waiting time 9.5 months. We applied on the 20th December 2017. British, Caucasian, Doctorate, been in Singapore 6.5 years on an EP, only changed jobs once. Same job for the last 4 years, salary 250K plus a year. Married, age 36 years. Don’t know if I should appeal or not. Any advice would be welome, thanks.

Re: Approved E-PR
You are afflicted with the affluence syndrome, you are the wrong race, and are not viewed as a long term resident.
- You have British citizenship. Your chances of giving that up for Singapore citizenship are pretty much zero.
- Your race doesn't fit in any of the four major race boxes in Singapore. Singapore might become more difficult to rule if it became more pan-ethnic and filled with people whose educational background including such startling concepts as thinking for yourself.
- Your salary and your education make you extremely mobile, and historically, people with your credentials and $$$ will rapidly move elsewhere for the right deal. The government rightly perceives that the staying power of an auto-mechanic is likely much greater than yours, as most auto-mechanics will never receive an offer of a post in Zurich, for example.
- Your chances of success were probably affected by white PR's like me. I had PR for 7 years, employed locals in my company, and the global recession killed my company. I gave up PR and went back to the USA as options didn't look good in Singapore.

Thanks for your reply. No kids, so it wasn’t that I had left anything out of the application. I think all the other info you have given me is pretty much spot on, however. Thanks and I think I won’t bother with reapplying. I have a 3 year EP and could change onto a PEP if need be for flexibility. Thanks again for your detailed response.
