Hi folks
This is my first post to this forum and I apologise in advance for asking something that might have already been discussed to death. However, I am still confused and seek your guidance.
I have just been offered a job by a multinational company in Singapore and they want to now kick off the process for my Work Pass (WP) application. The question they have asked me is: For my family, whether I want to apply for Dependent Pass (DP) or Long Term Visitor Pass (LTVP)? I am unable to decipher the difference between these two. Could you guide as to which one might be better?
My situation: Guy with a wife and 2 kids (ages 3 and 1). Citizenship: Australian. Wife will want to look for a job when she is in Singapore.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Dependent Pass or Long Term Visitor Pass?
Your company will apply for dependent pass. You are not eligible for LTVP. You can check the ICA website (https://www.ica.gov.sg/pass/LTVP/pass_LTVP_apply) for more details on LTVP.
Re: Dependent Pass or Long Term Visitor Pass?
DP is the way to go as it lets your wife work. LTVP requires an LOC for that which is troublesome.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

Not quite, PNGMK. The DP also requires a LOC to work.PNGMK wrote:DP is the way to go as it lets your wife work. LTVP requires an LOC for that which is troublesome.
Historically, the DP has always implied a right to work under a LOC.
A LTVP has implied that no work was possible.
A LTVP+ implied that work under a LOC was possible.
The DP is the pass your wife/children need.
