Hi there,
I want to take part in an audition/competition called Beam Search 2018 to join a talent agency. Am I able to do this on a tourist visa? Or do I need to apply for some kind of working pass?

Is the job paid? If not I think you're ok. How much time do you expect to be involved in? There is a special pass for artists and entertainers though which might apply.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or
http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

It's not paid, I had a look at that entertainment/ performer visa but it doesn't seem to apply that seems to be aimed more at venues wanting to hire someone to perform

I'd it's not paid work and there is not a prize that might be considered income I'd say you're OK.
