looking for pointers | landlord agent and tenant agent is playing with us

we rented an 2 bedroom unit which was quite old ( 1986 built) we were Ok with that when we moved in initially . 2 years going to pass and Tenant agent asked us if we want to renew for which we replied after a week saying No.
( agent created a whatapp group adding landlord agent, him and us)
then they went showing to other interested tenants. one day land lord agent came for unit viewing along with other tenants and asked us if we are interested in renewing . we told her if we have to renew this contract, since the property market is down we need rental reduction , many things to be replaced , serviced and getting done and upon renewing we need to pay the agency fee to our agent . she told us come directly through me .

meanwhile we sent her the list of things to her , she replied a week later saying many of things cant be done which is very much required to stay at that place. we said we dont want to go . now she yelled at us orally over the phone for saying no to renewal and 2 months notice will be considered from now on and told on face ur agent is him go to him. (meanwhile , she didnt not say anything in the group when our agent started getting other interested tenants for unit viewing ) , in the group we messaged saying we are leaving on so and so date with the notice mentioned earlier. he said Ok, you are free to go. later she was messaging we cant its unfair to owner. we did not know that our agent was not knowing all those episodes. later we called our agent and explained what happened and told us to message in the group. we did the same.

now he says what landlord agent is saying right , we will have serve another 2 months as notice period.
we did not confirm anywhere that we are renewing the contract nor we signed the agreement . we are trying to call CEA not sure how far they support us and get justice . if we continue for another 2 months , is it legal to stay with out agreement/contract ?
if we vacate as per our tenancy agreement , do they return our deposit which is one month with out hassle and we maintained the house in very good state, in fact when they handed over to us , the house was dusty ...
