Hello,
I would need some advice and would appreciate if someone could help me.
I rented a place with a TV included in the inventory list. Now, I have decided to buy my own TV and asked my landlady to pick up her TV.
The landlady is not living in Singapore anymore and the agent asks me to store it in my place, because it is in the inventory list.
However, I don’t want to keep her TV because I don’t have storage space.
What can I do here? Is the landlady obligated to take back her TV, because I don’t need it or is there nothing I can do about it? Can I ask for a deduction of the rent if I have to store her TV?
Would appreciate any advice.
Thanks

That sucks, but you are mostly out of luck as thats how it tends to work here.
I moved into a fully furnished place (they even counted the cheap plastic bowls and the mugs that were not even a set). As I have my own kitchen and living appliances, I had to store then which eats up over half my storage space.
Basically the landlord is unlikely to have a place to store them either so you need to suck it up. Possible wrap it in a blanket and store it under a bed? Or just leave it behind the new TV.

Singapore landlords (the ugliest version of landlords the world over) treat their properties as storage units and dumping grounds but if you even slightly damage that 20 yo TV she'll be suing for a new one.

If it's a flat screen TV, wrap it in waterproof plastic, then decorate it and hang it out on your balcony as art. If it's an old CRT, grab a chunk of plywood and turn it into an end table... or put it on the balcony as a sitting stool.
