Help on locks!

hi,

I have a new gate where it opens from one side only, unlike the common ones where you have a hole where the middle joint of the gates is and you can put a padlock. this is a one whole piece and you open from the right side with the handle.
Is there a way to put a padlock ? Does it mean that no padlock means no security ? My gate has a key lock which is a double-lock.
