How many doctors have you consulted on availability of Tresiba?jbell wrote: ↑Sun, 26 Jul 2020 12:26 amHi, I’m type 1 and have been here since September. I’m on MDI and libre. We were lucky as we managed to stockpile a lot of insulin before we came. Singapore is very futuristic in some ways but not in terms of diabetes! (There’s too few of us). So I can’t get Tresiba here, though I can in Thailand and Malaysia. And there seem to be about 5 pumps available (no omnipod). My doctor told me she can order insulin in from overseas- due to Covid she advises we do it 4 months before I need the insulin.
My plan originally was to buy insulin in Malaysia or Thailand but with the current situation, I don’t know how feasible that is. It costs me $200 to see a diabetic consultant and a libre is $92, so very similar to the uk. Abbott are here so do replacements if they fall off easily. I’ve put on sone weight due to all the hypos I was having when I first arrived that’s my excuse, anyway.
