You can't enter most clubs, pubs, If you are 19

If you want friends, ever tried joining Rotaract, Leo, Red Cross and such?
Minimum age of entry is 18 years so I can make it into most establishments that serve alcohol.Believe me, I went clubbing every weekend just a few months ago. But thanks for the suggestion anyway!

I said MOST clubs. Good Lord. Didn't say all clubs.

The less barfy and fighty ones have 23 yo entry age. Slightly less barfy...and fighty.

And what clubs would you be referring to? Dude, the clubs that have a entry age of 23 are usually around orchard towers and only god knows what most men go there for. I really don't know what your intentions you have by being an ass and trying to start beef on a online forum but I suggest you back off.

Honestly with zero malice I say this. Now don't come with your arms flapping.

You are better off hanging with kids of your age.

Very much preferably local kids, especially with this kind of short fuse that can rile you up for no reason.

PS, Orchard Tower has 'Clubs' ?

And what was your second line?

Next you gonna say people go to Geylang only for hookers?

You gotta grow up, a wee bit ...

I do get it if OT clubs had refused entry to you....

Bye

Who are you to decide what's best for me and who I choose to socialise with? What if I told you to get a life and get off this forum since you've posted over 9000 posts? C'mon, you're probably in your twenties and I can deduce that you spend most of your time sitting at home being a troll on this forum. People my age call people like you a keyboard warrior/loser.Don't act like you know everything and try to be mighty. Yeah, about growing up..... You do need to get out a bit more and I humbly do suggest you delete your account.

Word to the wise. Or in your case, a word to the not quite so wise. If you are nineteen, you are most definitely a Singaporean teen with a typical entitlement complex. Get over it. You couldn't deduce your way out of a wet paper bag. The guy with 9000 posts is old enough to be your father. I'm old enough to be your great grandfather. I suggest YOU back off. We all have heaps more information about clubs here then you are likely to ever gain. Why? Because with your attitude and mouth, you are probably going to mouth off to the wrong person and they are going to knock the living crap out of you and I daresay it will probably happen rather soon as you have, as mentioned already, a very short fuse. This is usually indicative of other areas of shortfall as well, hence the attitude. But don't worry. Most of the local gals are already used to that with the local guys, that's why they are staying single till their late 30's, hoping the local boys will become men in real life and not just in the movie. I reckon you have probably already been run off the local forums so you thought you would try your luck on an expat forum. Sorry, won't fly here either.

errr .. innocent until proven guilty :D

Anyway, back to my original suggestion.

The best place to find contacts, network with folks with no ill intent, is / has been social clubs.

At the least, try joining some volunteer group. You can always leave them if the crowd doesn't fit.

And for the youth groups, the age group, say, Rotaract and Leo Club, will be between 18 to 30, and Junior Chamber too, 18 to 40

By Social Clubs, you mean, like, those on MeetUp.com?

NO !!!!!!!!

As I quoted, if you want to make friends who have no malicious intentions, look up Rotaract, Leo Club, Junior Chamber and of course, volunteer in the cause you like, Red Cross, SPCA, St Johns ..

PS, meetup.com ? I have stopped trusting any online meeting places :D

MeetUps aren't that bad.

I've been to one where the focus was on Cultural Exchange. The organizer made it clear that it wasn't a dating event. I've met great people from different countries and had engaging conversations from the members.

I attended another one where the activity was a cooking class. Had great fun there since we ate what we cooked.

Then I attended one where it was poorly organized and I had to exert more effort to enjoy the event. I did get to meet people who were happy to share their thoughts on business so that was good.

I'd say it would be a case-by-case basis. I generally check the past events and reviews of the group before I join or attend any event. If all the events are about meeting at a club and ladies get a discount, that to me is a red flag. If the events are varied, say yoga on certain days, lunch trips on some weekends, rock climbing on other days, etc. and the reviews are positive then there's a high probability the group is alright.

I've found Facebook events to be quite a reliable source of event and potential meet up info. As you grow your FB friends group you see what events they are going to as well.

As for me we have made friends via church, work, motorcycling clubs, sports activities, charity work, inviting people for home cooked meals and our children's schools. However everyone here is transient which makes it hard to really make life long friends.
