Probation period extended

Post by Jasi87 » Wed, 25 Oct 2017 2:20 pm

Hi all,

I have started a new job on June 1st, 2017 with a three months probation period ending on the 1st of September. In my contract it only states that I have this three months period.

On the 19th of September (three weeks after it ended), my boss extended my probation period to the 16th of October. This happened via e-mail and I have acknowledged it. This date is over now as well and nothing has happened yet, I am still on probation with no end date.

Can anyone help me here?
1. How often can they extend my probation?
2. If I am still on probation they only need to pay me 2 weeks, afterwards three months.

I was thinking about contacting MoM abut I am worried to give them all my details as they may contact my employer.

Thanks for your help, I am getting really nervous here...

Sounds like you are going to be served notice sometime in November to me. I hope I'm wrong, but the only way I see an employer extending your probation is they have to notify you at least 1 week before the expiry of your probation 'in writing'. Something smells fishy in Denmark. In theory they can only extend your probation by 3 months (if on initial 3 months probation) once. I'd be wary of them. But that's only my opinion.
