Hi
I've been offered a new job in Singapore!
I've been diagnose with VDRL positive (syphilis positive) in 1997, which I had treated straight away.
But my concern is that I will be required to undertake a medical once I arrive in Singapore and the blood tests will always show as a positive result.
Will I loose my right to work there and have my spass cancelled?
Are all required to undertake medical which include these blood tests?
Is there anyway I can explain the situation to the MOM?
I would very much appreciate any help or advice anyone can give.
Thank you.

If they run VRDL again, and you are fully treated, then the rest should come up negative.
However, if you will be tested with TPAb, then you will come up positive. No real way to know which test the company will put you up for - depends on the package.
Best bet is to carry certification that you have been treated. However, if the latter test is positive, you will be flagged as someone indulging in high-risk behaviour. No saying if anyone will discriminate against you for that...
