extension of IPA (PR approval letter)

Post by bitter91 » Fri, 22 Sep 2017 5:27 pm

Hi all,
I got approval for my PR application on Sep 6. I have 2 months to finish the formalities. I am already in the process of changing my job (serving one month's notice). My new employer has applied for EP and the application is still pending. I am planning to go to my home country for 3 weeks after my last date of appointment with my current employer. I have written to ICA asking for 2 weeks extension to finish the formalities, and still waiting for their reply. Has anyone experienced a similar situation before? Will it help to directly visit ICA with my appeal?
Thank you

Let me see if I understand this correctly. You are changing jobs and you want ICA to extend your finalization time for PR so you can take a vacation to go home? Why did you quit your current job? I would have thought, as would most, that one would have stayed put until after your PR was secured. If ICA extends it, you better kiss their feet. Let me guess. Are you Indian by chance?

Hi,
Thank you for your response. My contract with my current employer is ending by october (I am in research and most research positions are contract based). I got the outcome of my PR application only after I have signed the contract for my new job. Yes, I am Indian.

[/quote]Meaning?

And why not get the papers signed by the employer?

Only the idiot employers will refuse to sign.

In which case you can produce your pay slips as proof of employment..

Maybe the fortune teller said he must not get the formality before X date.

Or the fellow country men said The stars are not aligned for now

You are talking about Mother Land mate.
