Before coming here, I had contemplated having the surgery done with Dr Jung but had decided against it after emailing him.

I wrote Dr Jung an email in English and he had replied saying that he charges US$5000 for revision nose surgery and an additional US$3000 if I want to use my own rib for the surgery.
Then out of curiosity, I sent him an email in Korean and he replied (in Korean) that he charges 5,000,000 Korean won for revision nose surgery and an additional 3,000,000 Korean won if I want to use my own rib for the surgery.
Do the math, there's such a huge difference between the two prices!!!
How can I trust him when he's planning to rip me off because he thought I am a foreigner.
In the end, I went to another plastic surgeon...won't name him until 1 month after the surgery when my nose is better.

I also had other minor aesthetic procedures done in Seoul in one of the many aesthetic clinics there.
And boy, am I ever impressed with the below clinic.
http://www.ilomys.com/
They offer services like laser skin resurfacing/rejuventation and laser hair removal.
The cost of bikini laser hair removal is only 80,000-150,000 Korean won (S$93-S$174)!!! That's very cheap by Singapore standards.
They also offer body resculpting and hair transplantation services.
One of their doctors there (Dr Park) speaks very good English and there are no problems in communicating in English with him at all.
He is kind, professional and has excellent bedside manner.
When I asked his advice about one procedure I want done, he advised against it...saying I look great without it but that's his personal opinion and he will do it for me if I want it.

If anyone wants some minor aesthetic enhancements while in Seoul, I highly recommend this clinic.

Service's great and the nurses treat you like a king/queen :D
Yes, you have to book an appointment before you go there.
It's actually about 15/20 mins walk to the clinic from the subway station but not a difficult walk as you only need to walk straight.

i cant believe guys do PS
in fact I'm even shocked if they go for facial but i see times are changing! LOL

Does Jung do chin? I asked for eyes and nose btw. He only does nose; eyes will be covered by another doctor and are 50% off if done with the nose.

Just a thought: Is it better to do zygoma first then rhino or rhino first before zygoma. Please advice anyone who has done both!

Going for Korean nose job by Dr. Jung.

Post by lollol321 » Sun, 19 Sep 2010 9:28 pm

I am planning to visit Dr. JUng in this winter.
I sent my photoes to Dr. Jung and I had sufficient on-line consultation
with his medical team. Not only I am satisfied with their consultation,
but also they are so fast. Just try to contact them for getting information.

E-mail of Dr.Jung's clinic : [email protected]

Hi everyone, I'm new here. I've been on the purse forum, but I thought I share my experience here too.

I recently had a nose revision at VIP International Clinic in Seoul (http://www.vipps-clinic.com/). I previously had an L shaped silicone implant for many years. I never had any infections, but my nose changed for the worse over the years. I didn't want any implant inside my nose, so I researched rib cartilage rhinoplasty for a couple years. I went with Dr. Lee at VIP because he introduced and pioneered rib rhinoplasty in Korea, and he's been using rib practically every day for 15 years. Your options are very limited in Korea if you want to use rib cartilage in the hands of an experienced surgeon, especially if you want to use 100% rib because most doctors only use it on the tip.

The cost of my revision was $8,000 USD. Yes it's very expensive, but it was worth every dollar. I would have paid over $20,000 in the U.S. for the same level of experience and quality. I stayed at one of the clinic's officetel for free, so I didn't have to pay for accommodation during my 2 week visit. This is only subject to availability, so you have to reserve in advance. The clinic sent a driver to pick up me and my husband at the airport. Joann is the manager who takes care of all the foreigners. She will go out of her way to try to help you in any way she can. Dr. Lee is quiet, but he will answer all of your questions and explain everything. His specialty is rhinoplasty, and he truly has a passion for sculpting noses. He really listens to your concerns and desires. If it's humanly possible, he will try his best to fulfill your requests.

I'm just going to copy and paste my experience that I posted on the purse forum. I'll be happy to answer any questions, but I can't PM yet.

Some of you have been asking if I had surgery yet. Yes, I FINALLY had my revision at VIP exactly two weeks ago. I used 100% rib cartilage for my nose. I'm extremely swollen, so I won't be showing any pictures for a while. I have thick skin, so it will take me longer to deswell.

Dr. Lee did a fantastic job considering what he had to work with. I had many problems with my nose because of my first nose job. My nose was very short, mildly contracted from the silicone, saddle shaped, and bulbous. Plus my nose skin is very thick and tight. I didn't have big expectations going into this. I just wanted a longer nose and my columella to show. My columella was retracted, so you couldn't even see it from my side profile. Dr. Lee lengthened my nose a lot. He dissected every part of my nose and lengthened it as much as he could. He could have lengthened it more, but my skin was too thick and tight to cover my nose. It is a huge improvement, and I actually have a columella now. My bridge is so high right now that it looks very unnatural. Dr. Lee said that it will take two years for me to see the final result because of my thick skin.

VIP is a wonderful clinic, and Dr. Lee is very talented and caring. All the staff took such good care of me and my husband from the moment we arrived until we left. Everyone was so friendly, and they bent over backwards to accommodate us. They let my husband stay with me in the clinic after my surgery. They even made sure that he was fed while I was in surgery. I honestly don't know how some clinics just send you home after this kind of surgery. I was given various IVs during my stay in the clinic. They are overly cautious, but they have never had even one accident. They also provide hair washing and facials daily. The majority of the patients are Korean, and it was very busy every day even though I was there during off season. While I was in the clinic, there were only two other foreigners. They don't advertise like BK, Grand, and other over rated clinics. I truly believe that there is no need for advertisement if your services are top notch. In fact, it's such a big turn off when I see companies going out of their way to attract business... it just cheapens their image.

As for the surgery itself, I had a very rough time and even a rougher recovery. Almost everyone has surgery under IV sedation, but I was given general anesthesia. I have a short neck, which indicates that I would have difficulty breathing on my own. To be safe, I was given general anesthesia. It took me a very long time to recover from the anesthesia. My chest hurt, but the nurse couldn't give me any pain killer until the anesthesia wore off. My nose didn't hurt a bit. Recovering from IV sedation takes no time, and people are able to walk around a few hours after surgery. I couldn't even sit up the following morning after my surgery. Everyone was commenting on how I was having such a hard time and was surprised that I couldn't even stand up because it's not the norm. The breathing tube during surgery really irritated my throat. I coughed for days, and it was so painful every time I coughed. Dr. Lee also had a hard time during surgery because my cartilage was unusually strong for someone my age. He had to use a drill.

I asked Dr. Lee to make the incision on my chest lower. He normally cuts on the breast crease and uses an endoscope to find the 7th rib. I have large breasts that sag, so it was more important for me to be able to wear a bra. I don't care about a scar. He was very concerned and surprised when I asked him to cut lower. He kept asking me if I was sure. My scar is not bright at all, and it will hardly be noticeable in a year or so.

Even though I had a rough recovery, I am very glad and relieved that I finally had a revision. Most importantly, I don't have silicone inside my nose anymore. The doctor said that I'm lucky because the silicone was starting to contract. I honestly believe that I chose the best doctor to perform my revision. I seriously doubt that I could have found the same level of quality and service anywhere else. I am so glad that I didn't go to Taiwan. VIP actually gets a good number of revision patients who had rib rhinoplasty in Taiwan.

IZORA,

I followed your post from purse forum too. I am going to get mine done this dec and was wondering if you can provide me more details as It was be my first trip to seoul and I am doing the exact procedure as you are.

Also, If you thought of Taipei for surgery initially. They have doctors that does autologous as well.

For example, how many days after then your stitches was taken out?

Is any xray taken?

Do we have to bring our own cleaning kit like q tips, creams, stuff like that?

The place you stayed,is it big enough for 3 adults?

How about the area? Is it near the shopping district? WHere should we go? Is it easy to access over there?
