korea!

Post by winst » Wed, 04 Mar 2009 2:09 pm

Hello everyone,

New poster here, but veteran reader. I've finally decided to take the jump from "planning" a surgery trip to actually booking it-- and now I'm wondering if anyone has, is, or will be undergoing similar treatments. And, if you're going to Korea at the same time, definitely let me know as well (and maybe we can wallow in our recovery-agonies together!)

I'm basically asking Dr. Kim to gauge whether my face could use fat grafts or small silicone implants on one side of my face to balance out an underdeveloped left jaw/ left cheekbone. Of course, the possibility of reaching true symmetry is nil, but I'm looking just to make both sides equally "attractive."

Anyway, here are my questions: have any guys here had either jaw or cheek implants with positive results? Even better, if you've had a bad experience, please let me know what your expectations were and how the surgery turned out.

I'm a guy with a long face and a little extra fat in the mid-face region; a bloated day vs. a good day makes a HUGE difference in how I look, because all of my so-called "angles" are quite delicate -- this is where I'm most concerned, as any over-correction will surely not look right (since I'm only getting the surgery on one side of my face).

Also, I'm staying for nine days total, and I'm wondering what is most important for a speedy recovery (and whether nine days is enough time to see whether any problems will develop post-surgery).

Lastly, is Dr. Kim the best out there for implants, or is there another Korean doctor with less hype but better results? Is it best to stay at one of the hotels recommended by the clinic?

Thanks for reading through all that, and I hope some of my questions can be answered :)

I am a 22 year old male who wants to get plastic surgery to look more feminine. I want a brow lift, brow bone burring, upper eyelid surgery, and a canthoplasty.

I am thinking about the IAAN clinic:

http://iaanclinic.com/

Or the tokai clinic:

http://www.tokaiclinic.com/

Has anyone else here experienced surgery at ether of these places? Can anyone suggest another clinic with cheap prices that is good?

hi lipcolor!

oh my god, i went down to TLC for consultation as well and i am going to go for the scarless eyelid surgery also end of this month! who is your doctor?

for those who are keen in double eyelid, you guys can visit http://www.tlcclinic.com/eyelid/double_eyelid.htm

my dr is jim wong. he is really detailed in his explainations such as the pros and cons and also the type of eyelid that will suit your face. i asked him about other surgery such as lipo and nose job that can be done as well. we spoke close to an hour and consultation fee is only $30 as lipcolor has mentioned, its super affordable!

Hi Winst

I went for jaw surgery 1.5 years ago and the result turned out to be great. However, the recovery period is a bit painful.

Hey there! Did you just have implants done, or was it a jaw correction surgery?

eyelid revision

Post by icywater99 » Tue, 10 Mar 2009 2:38 pm

I had an eyelid surgery about one year plus ago. after the surgery, one of the eyelid had another fold on top of the cut fold. so i ended up having two folds on one eye. and it felt uncomfortable because i can feel the fold. so i went back to the doctor for a revision. he told me he will anchor the fold more so there wont be a double fold. i also requested for a higher crease. after i recovered from the second surgery, i was so shocked to find scars on my eyelid. these scars are small depressions at where he anchored the eyelid i think. not only that i feel that my eyelids are not symmetrical and recently, the double fold on one eye came back again.

Does anyone know of a good doctor who can help me? I need to get rid of the scars and have a nicer, symmetrical and natural eyelids and also to solve the problem of the double fold on one eye. after researching, bk clinic, oz clinic and dr eric choe seems good. How much is their cost? and i seem to have read some negative feedback on bk clinic and oz clinic and have doubts about the doctors skills. Anyone can help me with my questions? cos i really cant afford to do revisions again and again. its very scary. Thanks

It was a jaw correction but the doctor also reshaped my jaw at the same time.
