what surgery did u do in BKK? Please share the procedures and your personal experience!

To: ocean11, jovinliu & to all who had any form of PS
may i know if u guys are taking any painkillers after yr op? cos my classmate who did her eyelid surgery had to take painkillers and it cause her face to bloat for at least 2-3 months!!! that's the second last thing i want to have..
Hi Guys,

I had a Rhinoplasty (Nose Implant) in BKK at Yanhee hospital..I know a lot of people think that they are not as posh as the other hospital, but I believe this is due to they're trying to capture the local market... when I was there, there were so many people, it's unbelieveable...all the nurses are like models or superstar!! (Plastic face of cos)!! :)

The Dr was pretty straight forward...he looked at me and told me that I have to go for a natural look, he will not give me a very high bridge, 1) because my skin is very tight... not enough to pull too high, 2) he doesn't want me to look like every other people on street that has plastic... this is so true, when I was in BKK, we played "Spot the Plastic Nose" game... so many of the people that had the implants looked so similar..their bridge was too high..it looked so fake.

Now that I'm back in Syd, everyone looked at me as if nothing happened..and a few minutes later..they would said, "Did you do something to your hair? You look different today... it's like your feature has gone sharper! Was it the Tan you get in BKK?" !! I've only told my close friends and they couldn't stop smiling.... everyone said it's natural.

So, there you go! If you want to know more about the nitty gritty of the surgery, PM me ...

congratulations buffyboi!! =D> now you're officially a member of the newly established nose club :girl: ...founders are our very own Ocean 11 and Jovin!! hahaha!!

yeah, I would also like to ask you the same question...who is your doctor?

I also have other questions for you...such as...

what are the reasons for you in chosing the doctor?

have you heard of other doctors reputation in yanhee?

is your doc nice, warm, professional and willing to answer questions?

does he show previous patients photos?

those pretty looking nurses, does their nose look real or fake?

you mentioned that you have a natural heigh...what does that mean? very little raise?

where is the starting point of the silicon? is it at the eye lid line or starting point of the eyebrow or middle of the pupil? (This question is also directed to both Ocean 11 and Jovin)

is yours L shape or I shape silicon?

how is the thickness/thiness or tightness of your face determined?

the silicon he has for you is ready made or carved specially for you?

Thanks a lot in advance for answering my long line of questions!! :D

Hee hee ... the New Nose Club, aka NNC! hee... ok here's the answer:

- what are the reasons for you in chosing the doctor?
I actually searched the forum and there's many people who said this doctor Xu did their nose and they are very happy with the result. So, I went ahead and did it with him. Ahem... i mean, did my nose with him... :P

have you heard of other doctors reputation in yanhee?
- *beep* skip this question because i didn't do mine in yanhee.

is your doc nice, warm, professional and willing to answer questions?
- erm... yes... Doctor Xu is like a father, very fatherly when talk to him

does he show previous patients photos?
- oh, actually no leh and i didn't request. He did show me the material of the implant though.

those pretty looking nurses, does their nose look real or fake?
- there's 3 nurses in that clinic, and i cannot comment or compare because i think Taiwanese gals has a weird dressing and fashion sense. Their hair is either big and thick like kanna bombed, or limpy and style-less. And i wonder why guys keep saying taiwan alot of mei nu... hell no! Singapore more!

- you mentioned that you have a natural heigh...what does that mean? very little raise?
not too little until no difference, not too high until i look like a witch. Just nice, eventhough sometimes i abit greedy and wondered should i go for higher bridge. Because honestly i won't go amend my height because i know it will end up too fake if it goes higher than now. Everyone wants natural, who wants to look fake right?

- where is the starting point of the silicon? is it at the eye lid line or starting point of the eyebrow or middle of the pupil?
*touch touch feel feel press press* oh, the implant starts from in-between the eyebrow that area

is yours L shape or I shape silicon?
- Mine is L shape

how is the thickness/thiness or tightness of your face determined?
- this i don't know and cannot answer. Your doctor will know though, and he will be the one who decide how high your nose bridge will be, unless you specifically request. Also, the tightness of your skin determines how high your bridge can go, but it doesn't mind if your skin is very elastic, your implant can go high like a witch! It's all about looking natural, so the skill and perception of beauty of your doctor is very important. You won't want to end up with a witch-nose, cursing and swearing at your doctor but he keep saying "nice! nice!"

the silicon he has for you is ready made or carved specially for you?
- it's ready made. Mine is a silicone one, which is rubbery, flexible and you can turn and twist. It comes in many shape and sizes, and the doctor will pick the suitable one for you. He may amend the length a little though.

Very painful ah? Aiyoh... why don't you consider mesotherapy? Read in another post about a new liposuction method call laser lipo...

Hi again ladies,

Jolinliu- thanks for your info on the contacts in taipei. May i also know where you go for the botox for jaw in JB. Its so sheap you are only paying $650. In Sin, at least $750 i think.
Can u also sent me your pix (before & after)? Pls. My email add is [email protected]
Thanks!!!

roke & oclean11- Its not MH or HF. Its another young doctor. Not nice to mention name here. His business is quite good cos appts had to make at least 1 week in advance. Had seen many overseas esp indonesia tai tai come n see him. He is really expensive.

May i ask all of you who had gone thru the nose surgery. Well...after what i read from you all and the pages from different website, it aways says between the 2th- 4th day, your face will be very swollen, eyes puffy..nose will be held by a support bandange rite?
is it true for you ladies and after how many days, then u all went back to work? Should i say at least a week or 10 days to look normal to go to work? I am rather worry that it will take long cos i dun have much leave left.

Have anyone heard or lipotrim/Thermal heat/radio therapy for slimming the face? I have read that some ppl wif very chubby cheeks went for this buccal cheek fats removal.Cost abt 2k in sin.

Lipotrim is by DRX clinic. saw the feature in the her world bridal magazine. It is thru injecction to slim the face. Cost abt $450 and above depends on the amt of usage per injection. So ex also. last abt 8-12 mths.

The other thermal heat thingy is from another doc at the wheelock plc. It cost abt $1400.

So for those who wants to slim down the face may consider these few options. Just my two cents worth of sharing :) hope it might be useful to some of you.

jovinliu wrote:Hello!

Sad to hear that you spent so much yet didn't attain the result you want. Wah you spent $1300 on your jawline ah? I did mine in JB, spent $650. Actually, what i suggest and i believe ocean11 agrees with me, is that you should really go for rhinoplasty and forget about the injection. The rhinoplasty is really, really not as scary as it seems to be, and trust us, you don't feel a thing. You pay US$450 (if you do in bangkok), and you get the result for life.

The contact of the PS who did my nose in Taipei: +886228753036, Xu(2) Yong(3) Kang(1) Plastic Surgery Clinic. He is one of the nicest PS I've consulted so far. Had consulted 2 before him, one makes me feel I am an alien because he suggested cheek reduction lah, eyelid lah blah blah blah, i was wondering do i really look that bad?! The other one was ok, but his clinic will be closed for renovation for 1.5months. Anyway, i quite happy with this PS call Xu(2) Yong(3) Kang(1). Feels as if talking to a father when consulting him... hee hee.

Hi Nuttyberry, maybe we can go together in BKK if you r keen :)

Hi to ocean11 n jolin for sharing so much.

Just to share my experience on my injection of fillers on my nose and botox on the jaw....

Well, i did mine in mid july and early august this year. The first time i went to visit this young doc at paragon. (a fren refer me to him) he seems really nice and friendly but after a few visits, he is actually a impaitent guy and he dun really listen to what the paitent wants. So quite disappointed lor. I spent $1300 on the filler for the nose for a higher bridge. It looked damm nice straight aft the injection but after a few days..it seems pretty normal and eventually, a few weeks later...it subsides. So i went back to the doctor again and ask him, he say it is like this.. and i need to top up the filler. I did it for another 2 times (paying about hundred plus extra). I also did the botox for jaw reduction. Paid $1300.my jawline seems smaller but it dun make a obvious difference.

After all these..i realise that i did spent too much $ on this doctor and yet my results are like this only.I was very disappointed so now i decided to go for the permanent thing instead.

Hi Jolinliu, care to share with me the contact of yours in taipei?

Thanks very much :)

Hi redwinecider,

Photos sent! :)

After nose job, it depends on individual, that means how well you recovery from swelling etc. Some people swell most on 2nd and 3rd day, some for 1 whole week, for me i swell most on the actual day itself and on the 2nd day. Also, my nose wasn't held by a support bandage. In fact after the surgery, i went to Shihlin Night Market for dinner and also ordered 1 big plate of mango snow ice as dessert! hee hee hee... There's slight bruising on the top of my nose, but it looks as if i had flu and blowed my nose too hard. Nobody stared at me as if i look like an alien or whatever...

I did my surgery on a saturday, sunday i put on slight makeup to cover the slight bruise underneath my eyes and i went shopping (again, nobody stared at me as if i look like a freak), monday is their public holiday and i went shopping again, and i went back to work on tuesday. Again, nobody realised anything except that i seems to look different... hiak hiak...

About the lipotrim/thermal heat/radio therapy for slimming face, i bet there must be some procedure to reduce the fats on your cheeks but i am not really considering this because one of my friend told me a fact and i agree with her: a person with abit of fats on her face always look younger and better as compared to another with sulken face/cheekbone. Unless you really cannot stand the look of your "fat" face in the mirror, then go to any good Plastic Surgeon for consultation and ask for recommendation.

About this doc from wheelock place, i think i know which one. DL right? Went to him before, and i swear i will never go back again. Service sucks, not professional enough and he gave me "that kind of face" after i said "errrr i think i don't want to do the botox injection on my chin today. I will do only chemical peel." The nurse even wanted to charge my mum $80 as consultation fee eventhough the only question my mum asked was "how much to remove this mole on my face?" I was so angry that I made a scene at their counter saying "my mum just asked for the price to remove the mole and if this is going to cost $80 for asking 1 question, it's ridiculous." In the end of course they agreed to "waive off" the $80. I am not the only one complaining, another couple wanted to do some slimming thingy, and the husband was complaining that the doc did not give enough information and details. The nurses keep pushing them to take up the treatment and to make appointment for the treatment. The husband refused, demanding to schedule another appointment with the doc. Really bad service and attitude. Oh by the way, after the chemical peel, my complexion sucks. I had alot of breakouts and it had never been like this when i went for a chemical peel at St. Gregory Aesthetic Clinic. It took me 3 or 4 months to recover! Bad, Bad, BAD. Oh! Talking about chemical peel, there is this New Peel at St. Gregory Aesthetic Clinic that is milder than chemical peel but will attain some effect. I didn't have any breakouts at all after this New Peel.

Hi!

The chemical peel i did was glycolic peel. It's a kind of AHA. There are many different types of peels out there in the market, some are stronger hence bites deeper into your skin, but may be more traumatising to your skin hence redder and longer time to heal. If your skin is ok and not that jalat, normal chemical peel will do. But, don't expect miracle. You will need a few times of chemical peel (done once every month, at least) before you see an improvement. It's not really a drastic improvement, maybe just smaller pores, smoother complexion and reduced lines.

Erm, yes my face was a little bit red after the peel, and you MUST apply sunblock! Just my point of view: If you really consider doing chemical peels, you should go to the same clinic to do it every month. At least you are using the same product and your result will be consistent. Just like what i had learnt from my bad experiences, i backside itchy go and try the chemical peel at DL clinic, i suffered from breakouts and that time i regretted big time! Don't always take price into consideration, meaning don't go to a doc/clinic only because they are the cheapest. Do consider the reputation, the attitude of the doc and the products they use. It really makes sense to pay a little more for a much better service and product.

By the way, how is your skin condition? Why are you considering chemical peel? Just a little secret: i was on Diane-35 a contraceptive pill before, and my skin was fantastic. But because i put on weight, i switched to Yasmin and currently my oily skin is under control and i don't really have breakouts anymore. If you are open to the idea of taking contraceptive pills, you can consider this option to improve your complexion, of course provided you are not planning for babies. 1 more secret: go JB buy contra pills! It's cheaper than Singapore! hee hee...

hi wine87,

I shape is just a straight silicon. if you know how an L shape silicon looks like, ......well I shape is without the shorter part. its just for increasing the height of the bridge and does nothing for the nostril. whereas the L shape also changes the shape of the nostril.

hope i explained it correctly :)

buffyboi....hope to hear from you soon.....

Hi Jolin,

Once again, thanks for the pixs. You really look good!

Talking abt that Doc DL at wheelock, i also had bad experience with him few mths back.I have abit of fleckles and pigmentation. My fren recommend me to go for the IPL session with him. He charge at $380 which include 1 IPL plus before & after microdermabrasion. I think his prices for treatment is still cheaper that the one in paragon. After my IPL session to remove my pigmentatation, my face was red. and the crust was obvious cos i believe this doc uses abit higher frequency of IPL compared to other clinics or facial salon.
During a week, my crust fallen off by itself and most of my pigment were gone. After the follow up session of microdermabrasion, my still is really glowy and nice! one bad thing is that during the IPL, he over zap one area along my leftside chin!! So there is abit of mark there. I complain to him and he told me that the mark will fade off after a while. Well, i believed him and one mth later, my mark was still there and worst still, my pigmentation came back! So again, i went back to him to complained. His assistant(the guy) was abit rude when i explained y i needed to see DL again. This time, DL gave me a free session of mircodermabrasion and a small jar of lightening cream for my mark on the jawline. He also keep asking me to buy another cream which cost $90 for my pigmentation.Sigh :( I didnt buy cos was aldy so fed up. I told him that if the mark still dun fade, i will be back for him.

I didnt use the cream he gave me. Look so watery and funny. Dun dare to use. I use my own lightenting cream and it is lighter now. Never never i will go back to him again. Dun even want to see his face again.

Nuttyberry- are you still doing more reseach and deciding who to go?
I guess i should be going end of nov to BKK.

yah yah, i actually wanted to do IPL with him one, but he said IPL won't help me much so in order to "save" $80, i did a chemical peel with him loh. Wah, regret regret regret! Everytime i look into the mirror and cursed and swear at him, and i scolded myself for being so stupid... luckily now clear already. Never, ever want to go back to him for anything, even if he offers 50% discount.

And yah, i remembered that male assistant. Quite cool one right?

Hee, i am Jovin, not Jolin lah.
