Hi Rabbit,

This is exactly what I want to do to my nose too! Although I would like to heighten my nose bridge as well, but I am worried that it will change my appearance too much. My family are dead against it.

Thought of consulting Harry Fok or Colin Song for ala reduction. But now really at a loss. Would you know how long it takes to recover for ala reduction? I can only take at most 2 days off from work. Immediately after the operation, will the doctor cover our nose with some kind of bandage or support?

thanks catalyst and broke! yr replies have allayed my fears.. i had a talk with my fren on thailand and after all the horror stories i heard from her, like getting kidnapped all that, i was totally petrified!!! hahhaa.. but now, i feel much better and shall continue saving for the op! and yea, i did pray for ocean11.. can u believe it?? hahah.. as in really sit down there and pray..hahhaa... really hoped that she'l be okie!!!

hi catalyst, i'm afraid that i cant do with you (though i'd love to ) because i am still schooling and my exams will only end at end nov.. den i will start working and saving up for my surgery trip.. if i can, i'd have borrowed from the bank or something cos i'm really quite paranoid about going alone.. but the interest will be too high AND i'm too young AND i won't be able to find a guarantor anyway. furthermore, as my parents are super against it, i cant possibly borrow from them too! so, i just have to keep saving and i've calculated tat i probably have enough by next year may, where my hols will start again.. do u tink that u can wait that long??? u can email me at astar_30@hotmail.com if u want to!

I wish my boyfriend can be more supportive of my decision and not keep using pressure from my family on me. I know he meant well but i have been thinking about a nose surgery for the past 3 years.

My korean gf 's friend, who is a korean too, will be going back Korean for some surgeries. My korean friend will be doing in end Jan.

I maybe be going with her to Kore for a full consultation before deciding whether to go for nose surgery in July.

Hi kopi Princess,

I've actually done ala reduction before but the result was no good, thus want to redo.

For ala, it's on local anesthesia so thru out the ops, you are aware. Right after the ops, you can take cab go home already.
After 5 days, you will need to go back to the clinic to remove stitches. After stitches are removed, it will only be some redness (really quite red), looks like infection (I mean that kind of red, not really infection), from far people won't be able to tell you've just did plastic surgery. In 3 wks, it will look normal, provided if your stitches were done properly and the scar heals up well, otherwise, it would be like me, 2 small row of scar at the corner of my nostril!

If you are going to Korea for consultation, you may want to consider Dr. Jung Dong Hak. From the web search that I did, he sounds famous, have live ops and workshop for other plastic surgeon from China and Taiwan etc. to learn from him. I'm sure there's other good doctor out there in Korea but so far his web-site is the only one I saw with English and very very properly documented before and after photos. www.nose.co.kr

However, the price is a bit step, US$5,000 for ops only. For your info pls.

And just like you, my boyfriend is nt supportive of my decision, but we broke up 3 weeks ago! so hell yeah! i m going ahead with my nose surgery!

Just to clarify, the first post op check up may be is the 3rd day, then the 5th day, I can't remember liao, but anyway, stay there for a week or 1.5 week will be good.

Mmm... I hope you have make up your mind to go for the ops is for yourself, and not some emotional decision cos the result, good or bad, is for you (not your boy friend), and would be something for a life time, you better think twice. Take care!

hi rabbit!! can you pls tell me in detail your op?? cos i wanna do reduction oso, but dun tink can do it by bridge.. how come the bridge thing can reduce the size of your nose anyway?? hahaha.. but yea, can tell me about your op??? the scars wun go away?? yours is closed or open rhinoplasty??? where did you do it? which doc? how much?? sorry for asking so many questions!!!

Hi guys!!! I had done it finally!!!!!
It was alrite, no pain when during op.. 1st day no swell, only 2nd day then swell.. hmm.. my eyes under got brusies now and my nose bangage.. so i cant tell how it is look like but the height seem really alrite for me... anyway i told the doc i wanna a not so high bridge and the doc say i don need that high too.. so he make a very natural high for me.. i hope..b
The Hospital is full of ppls when i was there, and the nurses at the Plastic Surgery dept all looks so BEAUTIFUL!! wonder they PS as well??

Any qns i will be delightful to ans.. err.. if i can.. by the way i took the cataloge for the rhinoplasty..
