kalyn,

I remember... you did silicone with Dr. Chuang.

I think you just may need some time getting used to the implant. He pays a lot of attention on getting the right size implant.

Also, at a month, you're still swollen a lot. your nose can still be kind of obvious.

Actually, the doctors say that it takes 3 months to see what it will kind of look like... but really it will keep changing for a year. And, in Caucasian nose jobs where they break bone, it actually will keep changing for years!

kalyn, i'm a bit worried. cos you said you're meeting a friend for the FIRST time. Does that mean that thisisthe first time you see him or the frist time you're seeing him after the surgery? if it's the former, then it's def the doctors fault. but if you have seen the person before you have done the surgery then that is normal. if you're met the person before and the person cannot tell the difference(or notice a difference but dont know where) then you might as well not do. i mean, if getting a hair cut would do the you're different but dont know where look, i might as well get a hair cut right?

kogal87: i think if you're thinking of distance then kalo is the nearest. i've personally nv been to any of these doctors before but so far kalo has the most raves. i think dr nara is more for eyelids no? yanhee is not really alar. more for implants.

A lot of my friends didn't know I had a rhinoplasty until I told them. They think I look better but can't pinpoint the exact reason. I didn't have a very flat nose to start with, in fact tanjhj told me "ur nose is pretty high bridge but i can see ur nose tip is big".
But my nose tip has become smaller after the surgery...don't know why?

Kalyn,

at one month post op your bridge still has alot of settling down to do. Mine is goretex but it kept getting more and more natural looking as the months went by. So don't despair cuz if you think its too high now, it might just end up being perfect at 6 months post op!

Till now, none of my friends have pin pointed the change in my nose. Most ppl say "oh you look good, did you lose weight?" or they know something is different but nobody thinks of the nose! Then again it was already 3 mths post op before I started meeting up with friends again so I had more time to heal.

Or maybe they know and are just too polite to say so. Either way I think its rude to ASK someone outright if they had a nose job unless you are VERY close friends.......

Yikes, that's the scary part about alarplasty. Its relatively minor surgery but it takes skill and precision to avoid scarring in the sensitive nose area. At 2 months its normal for the incision area to still be red and sensitive. Mine were still pinkish at 2 months but they were never raised or keloid looking. Now at one year its completely disappeared.

You might wanna try this cream for scars called mederma. Its supposed to help fade and flatten even keloid scars. I bought mine in the US but I think you can get it here too....

Kalyn,
here i am!! hehe.. my nose huh? siao siao one.. sometime looks small and natural, sometime looks big and crooked?!? it all depend how i sleep in the nite. when i sleep straight up, next day my nose will look good, if sleep side way, next day my nose tip will get bigger n slightly crooked.. i guess it still not really stablize, afterall it only a mth old..
but so far nobody can tell i went thru nose job surgery.. unless i told em.. should i get happy or sad?? cos meaning to say no diff?!?! kaoz..
but come to think about it, i got slighly high bridge to start with, so i guess that is why they cant really tell the diff..

gal no worries la, i guess u just not use to the bridge suddently higher then ur original one, same goes to ur frens.. it the matter of getting use to it.. last time me too, not use to the higher bridge me, but now u want me to go back to flat nose??! OVER MY DEAD BODY!! hehehe.. :P cos no matter how, nose job really enhanced my looks alot alot!

kalyn wrote:Hi people, it has been one month since i did my surgery. Last night, I met up with a friend for the first time, and he could immediately tell that I'd something done with my nose. I was very embarressed so I kept denying. And it ended up very awkward. Has anybody faced this situation before? When somebody is able to tell you'd a nosejob, does it mean the nose is very natural? I find that my bridge is too high and it's really affecting me.

Ocean, hope your nose is healing well. Would like to hear from you!

Take care everyone.
